Director of Stewardship, Principal Gifts
The University of Illinois Foundation (Foundation) is the official fundraising and private gift-receiving organization of the University of Illinois (University). It works closely with alumni and friends, faculty and staff, corporations and foundations, as well as campus development professionals to create fundraising programs and opportunities that benefit the University. The Director of Stewardship, Principal Gifts is Responsible for the direction of stewardship of all major and principal gifts contributed to the University of Illinois Foundation (UIF) by donors considered principal gift donors or principal gift prospects, as well as members of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees. This position also serves as a partner to the UIF Board and Donor Relations office in the stewardship of gifts provided by members of the UIF Board of Directors.The Director works directly with the Senior Vice President for Principal Gifts, Gift Planning & Trust Services in ensuring that strategic stewardship plans are developed, documented, and implemented. Works collaboratively with advancement colleagues at UIF and its related universities to develop and implement these stewardship plans in a manner that supports enhanced lifelong relationships with donors.
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of related experience in a nonprofit organization or within higher education required, including experience raising major gifts.• A keen interest in relationship building and a fervent belief in the University's and Foundation's missions are essential. • The incumbent must be highly collaborative and consistently demonstrate strong listening and communication skills, critical thinking skills, and impeccable integrity.
