The Village of Rantoul Board of Fire and Police Commissioners

will be accepting applications January 29, 2018 through March 2, 2018 to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer.

Minimum qualifications include: 21 to 34 years of age*, High School diploma or GED equivalent, excellent physical condition, no felony convictions and eyesight corrected to 20/20 in each eye. Selected applicant will be required to live within a twenty mile radius of the corporate limits of Rantoul within six months after the completion of probationary period. *(A veteran shall be allowed to exceed the maximum age provision by the number of years served on active military duty, but by no more than 10 years of active military duty.) Applicants must successfully complete a written entrance examination, psychological testing, thorough background investigation, oral interview, and a physical examination which includes a drug screening. Applicant required to pass a physical agility test to successfully complete the police training academy. The written examination will be administered Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. at the Rantoul Township High School Cafetorium, 200 S. Sheldon Street, Rantoul, Illinois.

The Village of Rantoul offers a competitive benefits package. The starting hourly salary for this position is currently $27.50.
