Douglas Park Manager

The Douglass Park Manager is responsible for the overall supervision, administration, and direction of the Douglass Park facilities (Community Center, Library and Annex), programs, park, and staff. This is a full-time, exempt position.


• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in recre ation, sports, tourism, or related field, or eight years' experience in the field • Excellent skills in planning and organizing events, activities, and programs • Responsible for all programs and activities held within Douglass Park including, but not limited, to the following programs: Senior programs, af terschool program, Boy/Girl Scouts, open gyms, adult programs, special events, CU Days, class es, rentals, sports programs, social programs, and clinics • Communicate and develop a working relation ship with, but not limited to, the Douglass Neighborhood, Douglass Branch Library, Cham paign Neighborhood Services, Police Depart ment, Booker T. Washington Elementary School, and neighborhood churches • Must be able to resolve differences and prob lems that arise with staff, participants, volun teers, partners, and sponsors in a professional manner and in the spirit of the District's mission This job listing is available in more detail online at the Champaign Park District website.
